Hear My Call // Jill Scott

If you can't feel what Jill is emoting from her raw emotions in this video...I don't even know what to say. This song is so humbling and echos my own sentiment about opening up to love. One cannot help but get emotional upon hearing and seeing her earnest cry. And the simplicity of the video drives makes it all so cohesive. Hands down my fav on the new "The Light of the Sun".

Here Comes Another One.... Jillgasm!!!

Just when I start to come down from my Light of the Sun, Jillgasm, I find out that Hidden Beach Records will be releasing The Original Jill Scott from the Vault Vol. 1, which drops Aug. 30^th!  *insert 13 year old screams*

 The album will be released in two versions, a standard 11-track edition and of course, a Deluxe Edition (which is what I always opt for).  According to Hidden Beach, The Deluxe Edition, will include special silver foil packaging, two live bonus tracks and a twenty page booklet with full lyrics and producer notes!  Exciting, right?  As long as Jill's voice is blasting from the stereo, I'm good!!

I practice
I open my mouth wide for the "I"
Stick my bottom lip in for the "for"
Touch the roof of my mouth with my tongue
For the "give" and get stuck
"I forgive you"
I practice
Looking in the mirror for honest eyes
And a relaxed way when the words come
She didn't mean it I say
She didn't know I say
But you knew
You're so smart
You knew that this trouble would bubble in me
That I would need to pass this gas
You knew my pant size would climb
You knew my limited sleep would tense
And ultimately I would do it
I would forgive you
But I hate you for knowing me so well
